Original Poems from Central Illinois
From the occasional snowstorm in May to the brightness of an unseasonably warm October day and everything in between, SEASONS: A YEAR OF MIDWESTERN LIFE is about the rhythms of an unassuming place.
SEASONS is a collection of original poetry from Midwestern writer/bookseller Nicholas Rynerson (author of The Duncan Manor Review) exploring rhythms of life, spirituality, history, gardening, and weather in rural central Illinois.
Along with over 100 new poems, SEASONS features original illustrations from Illinois-born artist Grace Mertens, bringing central Illinois to life with stunning original artwork.
SEASONS is written as a companion for that frustratingly beautiful human experience of living in a place in time. The varied structure of the prose, short aphorisms, and transcendental perspective may appeal to readers of Wendell Berry, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Mary Oliver.
This book will be Impeded Stream's first published and printed full length book. The first edition of 500 hardcover books releases in March 2025.
